Senior Product Engineer at Code & Co.

  • Full-time
  • Remote, Worldwide
  • €70,000 - €120,000

We're building something ambitious at Code & Co: an AI-first ecosystem of apps that changes the way due diligence gets done.

But, before we dive into that, what is Code & Co?

We specialize in Tech and Product Due Diligence. This means working with the world’s leading investors (private equity, growth funds, etc.) and helping them make informed investment decisions.

We've been around for over nine years and partnered with many of the world's leading investment funds along the way, all while remaining proudly bootstrapped. No VC funding, growth-at-all-costs mentality, or buzzword bingo. Instead, we've built something rare: a small, dedicated, profitable team who care deeply about our craft but not about ceremony.

The thing about due diligence is it's traditionally been a very manual, very spreadsheet-heavy affair. Investors hire consultants who spend weeks digging through codebases, asking the same questions on repeat, and endlessly tinkering with Powerpoint to create their reports.

We’ve rejected that model. From the outset, we've sought to relentlessly automate the mundane so our consultants can focus on the intellectually interesting stuff. Our products, tools, and AI agents now shoulder a huge amount of heavy lifting that would once have required an army of analysts.

Looking further ahead, we have a growing list of new products that we can’t wait to bring to life.

This is where you come in!

We're on the lookout for a Senior Product Engineer. Note the ‘product’ part. You won't just be writing code – you'll be thinking through user problems, sketching out solutions, and then building entire systems from scratch. It's the kind of role where you go from "our users keep asking for X" to "here's X running in production", only without a dozen meetings in between.

Our ideal candidate

You've built web applications that people actually use. You know Rails inside and out, especially the Hotwire parts that make everything snappy without a ton of JavaScript. You've dabbled with the latest AI models and have opinions about which are actually useful versus hype.

You're also the kind of person who sees a manual process and immediately thinks "there has to be a better way." You like talking to users, understanding their problems, and then disappearing into your code editor until you've solved them.

Specifically, we’re looking for (in order of importance):

  • Deep Rails experience (especially Hotwire/Stimulus)
  • Familiarity with bleeding edge AI tools and APIs
  • Comfort with PostgreSQL
  • A product mindset (you care about user experience, not just code quality)
  • The ability to work independently without constant direction
  • Experience with Tailwind and Fly.io

How we work

We're a small team that punches above our weight. You’ll have an outsized impact on not only the development of our products but also their conception, and the code you write will have a real and immediate impact rather than disappearing into the void.

We’ll also get out of your way. Processes are lean, meetings are rare, and you’ll be given plenty of time and space to get to work without disruption.

A few other things about us:

  • We’re fully remote and open to hiring in any corner of the globe
  • We’re flexible when it comes to your work schedule, and able to accommodate both four and five-day weeks
  • We subscribe to the Manager of One mentality: where you set your own course then sail it

How to apply

Email us at [email protected].

Attach your CV, but more importantly, tell us a bit about yourself. We're not looking for a formal cover letter dripping with corporate speak or AI slop. We want to hear your voice. Show us some code you've written that made you smile. Tell us why Code & Co might be your next adventure. Explain what excites you (or scares you) in the AI-sphere.

In short: be yourself. If you're the kind of person who gets excited about solving real problems with elegant code, we probably want to talk to you.
