Position Overview
We are seeking a Senior Software Developer to join our growing team at a pivotal stage in our journey. As we transition from early-stage innovation to a later-stage startup, we’re committed to maintaining the move-fast, creative spirit that has brought us this far. This role will play a critical part in leading and mentoring our software team, helping us scale while tackling an exciting and diverse range of challenges.
Our software lies at the center of our business, connecting hardware in our dispensers, neural nets in our color formulation, logistics in our orders, chemistry in our dyes, mobile in our app, and finances in our billing.

Key Responsibilities (and other tasks as assigned)
Lead, mentor, and support a distributed software development team.
Collaborate cross-functionally with product, operations, and hardware teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.
Own software products from business requirements to execution and delivery.
Design, develop, and maintain scalable software solutions across multiple platforms.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across systems and integrations.
Balance technical debt with fast-paced innovation to meet business goals.

Qualifications
5+ years of professional software development experience.
Strong background in web application development and software architecture.
Proven experience mentoring and guiding teams.
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
Strong communication skills for working in a semi-remote, distributed environment.

Bonus If You Have
Experience with Ruby on Rails, PostgreSQL, Node.js, React, Angular, Python, or hybrid mobile apps.
Familiarity with neural networks, logistics, billing systems, or IoT/hardware integration.
Based on the West Coast or in San Diego, CA.
